Promissory note form given by the bridegroom’s brother, with a pledge to fulfill the commandment of chalitzah within three months, without pay, should their sister-in-law become widowed while childless (and be prohibited from remarrying others without chalitzah from her husband’s brother). The pledge includes financial and other sanctions should the brothers not fulfill their pledge.
