Eternal lamp made entirely of silver. Hung on five long silver chains. The chains hang from a silver dome on the top section of the menorah until the mid-section where they attach to five nice, silver roosters. The midsection is made like a ring that serves as a frame for the glass oil dish. This section bears lengthy, engraved and cut-out Hebrew text. למנוחת המנוח כה”ר שמואל הלוי נ”ע בר שלמה נ”ע שנבל”ע ביום שלישי בשבת ששה ועשרים לחודש אדר בשנת תרנ”ד (for the rest of Shmuel Halevi…1894). The bottom section is shaped like an upturned dome and is also attached with five, more delicate chains to the center sections. Engraved with nice decorations that can be seen from the bottom, ends with a small fruit. An original, large, heavy glass cup sits on the bottom section. It held the oil for the eternal lamp. The cup is decorated with gold-colored squares. Written on its upper section: מנורת המאור לעילוי נשמת הנפטר תנצב”ה. Slightly faded.
The menorah: Height: 96 cm. Diameter: 45 cm. Weight: 2.140 kg.
The cup: Height: 30 cm. Diameter: 21 cm. Weight: 2.520 kg.
All original, intact parts. Nice, impressive menorah.
