Folder with Torah thoughts, drafts of writings related to many subjects: personal notes of Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, the Steipler.
About twenty leaves of different sizes, all in his hand. The material includes Torah novellae on the sugya of “Heilech” (2 pages); gematria calculations — the Steipler was an expert in this (refer to his Birchat Peretz); short responses to questions; short letters; a draft of a dedication to someone who financed the printing of his book; list of print aleph-beit letters that he used to teach his grandchildren the letters, and more.
In his later years, the Steipler was hard of hearing. Instead of speaking with him, people wrote their questions on small pieces of paper. A number of these papers with questions are included here. The Steipler reused them to write notes for himself.
