The Mekor Chaim Society was founded in 1874 by Rabbi Samson Refael Hirsch’s community. A large celebration with a full-meal commemorated its 50th anniversary on the 15th of June, 1924.
Here are three leaves related to this event:
* Poem composed for the occasion. Text in German. * Song sung by the participants at the event during the meal. *Menu. Halibut with cabbage in mayonnaise, and more.
Along with another cardboard leaf with the menu for a festive meal that took place on the 19th of Tevet, 1929. A picture of artist Moritz Oppenheim is featured on the top half of the leaf. We do not know when this meal was served. [Printed note in the margin that it was printed by Kaufman publishing in Frankfurt]
