Regarding the validity of tzitzit that are made from artificial silk, which is imported from abroad and woven in Israel. From the letter we see that Rabbi Ovadiah did not suffice with the description he received, but rather went to see the process with his own eyes.
Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef, one of the great poskim of the last generation, served as chief rabbi of Israel and chairman of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah. He authored many books including Yabia Omer, Yechaveh Da’at, Meor Yisrael, and more.
