Letter written by the gaon Rabbi Yoel Katz, av beit din of Ardud, to the posek hador the gaon Rabbi Alter Shaul Feffer, rabbi of Kehal Anshei Ungarin in the United States, author of Shu”t Avnei Zikaron (three parts). Ardud, 1932.
His letter opens with words of appreciation for his sefer, Shu”t Avnei Zikaron (Part II, Satmar 1931), ” … but in general the sefer is most wonderful and almost the only one of its kind at this time, in my humble opinion, as such I hope that [you] will honor me with it, and I will adorn myself with it …”
In addition, Rabbi Katz appeals to him for his material assistance “… I would also very much request, due to the several years [that you] have almost completely forgotten me – that you come to my assistance through associations in which [you] have influence, please, please help me through the Ezrat Torah [association] …because Heaven forbid, there is a shortage of bread for me and my children, may Hashem protect and preserve them …”
