Most of the contracts are signed by two dayanim from among those at the central rabbinical court of Fez.

As would be expected, this ledger contains a treasure trove of historic information about Moroccan Jews: People’s names and family connections, their places of residence and their various customs. The backs of several of the contracts bear comments or records of payments.

Overall moderate-fine condition. Tears (mainly without lack) in the middle of most of the contracts as a sign that the debt has been paid. These tears are pasted from the back. Aging stains. Beautiful old binding, well-preserved.
