The responsa at the end of the book are discussions between the author’s brother (who was also his father-in-law), Rabbi Shabbtai Ventura (author of the book “Nahar Shalom”), and his teacher, Rabbi David Pardo.
On the title page is a handwritten dedication by the author to Rabbi Avraham bar Menachem Corial, a major leader of Venice at that time. The author, Rabbi Eliyahu Ventura, served as the rabbi and moreh tzedek of the Jewish community in Split in Yugoslavia, and grew up under the influence of his brother, author of “Nahar Shalom, ” and married the latter’s daughter [his niece]).
