The lecture was delivered in the Tiferet Bachurim shul in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem, in 1958, at a gathering for its annual holiday. For over seventy years, Rabbi Elyashiv delivered a daily lecture in gemara to his followers, as the successor to his father in the Beit Midrash Tiferet Bachurim. Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv [1910-2012] was born in the city Chavel in Lita as an only child to his parents after 17 years of marriage. In 1924 he made aliyah to Israel with his family and settled in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. As a child he helped his grandfather, the kabbalist Rabbi Shlomo Elyashiv with his composition Leshem Shvo Vachlama. He studied Torah in various Batei Midrash in Jerusalem. Eventually became renowned as the posek hador and leader of the Ashkenazi Charedi Jews. Not checked if the lecture was published. Minimal stains. All legible. Fine-very fine condition.
