Early letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yitzchak HaLevi Herzog to Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, 26 Tammuz 1951.
Rabbi Herzog turned to Rabbi Elyashiv with a halachic inquiry about a girl who immigrated from Yemen and had married at an early age. He requests that a G-d fearing doctor check if she has signs of maturity.
Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac HaLevi Herzog: (1888-1959), first Ashkenazic chief rabbi of the Land of Israel starting in 1936, and then of the State of Israel until his passing. He served as chief rabbi of Ireland in an earlier period.
