Rabbi Yosef Rosen (1858-1936) was born in Rogatchov. In his youth, he studied under Rabbi Yosef Dov Ber Soloveitchik, author of the Beit HaLevi. For over 40 years he was the chassidic rabbi of Dvinsk, alongside Rabbi Meir Simchah HaKohen, the Ohr Sameach. He was known for his genius and his phenomenal memory. He wrote Torah thoughts in short remarks. His daughter put forth much effort to photocopy his manuscripts before the Second World War and send them to America. Later, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Kasher published some of this Torah that was copied.
The ink on a few letters is smeared. Fine-very fine condition.
