Rabbi Yehudah Moshe Danzinger (1893-1973) became the Admor of Alexander after the Holocaust. He traveled dozens of times to the Yismach Moshe and married the daughter of his nephew, Rabbi Bezalel Yair. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1934 and settled in Jerusalem where he studied Torah in dire poverty. During the Holocaust, the Alexander chassidut was almost entirely decimated, and the Rebbe and tens of thousands of chassidim, including eight of Rabbi Yehudah Moshe’s sons, were killed. In 1947, he was appointed Admor.
Rabbi Shmuel Hominer (1913-1977) was a personality of the Old Yishuv. He authored many works of mussar and shemirat ha-lashon. He studied in Etz Chaim and was a disciple of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer, who noted that “he excels in his fear of G-d and elevated character traits.” When he was 26, he published his first work, Ikrei Dinim, a summary of the Chafetz Chaim. Over his lifetime, he published many other mussar works, including Eved HaMelech.
