Letter about the construction of the synagogue in Elburg. In his letter, Rabbi Ziskind expresses great resentment regarding his appointment of two officers from the community to construct the synagogue. He had stipulated to them that it be built entirely according to Jewish tradition, with the bimah in the middle, etc. They then betrayed him and were insolent, plotting to disrupt the synagogue’s construction.
Leaf sized 28×20 cm. Autograph. Tears and folds in the margins.
The letter also mentions the purchase of the building for the synagogue.
The deed of sale of the building from 1848 is included. Moderate-fine condition.
