A Poem of Friendship. “New and old early poems in the tradition of each city of the West…” 1921. First edition.
Two printed pages were bound in after page 250 and on them is a list of piyutim for the Torah portions Tzave-Pikudei in the month of Adar, edited by “Hayim Atar.” These pages are found in the copies in the National Library.
[5], [21], 127, [1], 128-250 [18] leaves. 12 x 18.5 cm.
In the beginning and end of the book new piyutim were added in varying scripts of the 20th century and by various authors. It appears that most of these piyutim were never printed. Among the authors is “Shlomo Ben Yosef Avitbul.” These piyutim are evidence of the tradition that the Jews of the Magreb continued to compose piyutim in the traditional style until the recent generation.
Cardboard binding. Some pages where cut by the bookbinder. Signs of age and use, tears, medium condition. Very rare.
