A booklet in memory of the 50th anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Yosef Rivlin. Rabbi Yosef (Yoshea) Rivlin as born in Jerusalem in 183. From a young age he expressed a desire to expand Jewish housing in Jerusalem and build neighborhoods out side the Old City walls. He helped his relative Rabbi Yosef Yoel Rivlin, who was a scribe for the Kollel Prushim and this made connections with public personalities. In 1857, when he was 20 years old, he founded a company called “Bonei Yerushalayim” that aimed to construct houses outside the Old City walls. Over the years he initiated and participated in building other new neighborhoods including: Meah Sha’arim, Even Israel. Mishkenot Israel, Mzakeret Moshe, Ohel Moshe, Yemin Moshe, Zichorn Tuvia, Sha’arei Zedek, and more. He died in 1896.
