Megillat Shir HaShirim with the ‘Megishei Minchah’ commentary – Ivri Teitch. Copy edition of Shir HaShirim, of the famous in-demand Slavuta edition. Provenance: Vinograd collection.
This Shir HaShirim was printed in 1848, as appears in the year detail on the title page. However, the place of print has not been noted, just “in Slavuta” in large letters, preceded by the tiny letters ‘כש”נ’ – an abbreviation for “as printed.” This Shir HaShirim is actually a facsimile of the in-demand Slavuta edition, including the unique font and form of printing. The actual place of print does not appear on the title page, as mentioned, and is unknown. Otzar HaSefer HaIvri (Vinograd) determines the place of print as “Russia-Poland.”
