Before the title page there is a large illustrated title page of etched copper by the artist Avraham ben Yaacov. This well-known artist was a ger tzeddek whose signature is also on the famous Hebrew map in the Haggadah printed in Amsterdam in 1685. There are additional title pages for Vavei HaAmudim and Toldot Adam. This is a splendid printing, a wonderful edition of the sefer HaSh”lah. With Vavei HaAmudim by Rabbi Shabbatai Shepsel Horowitz, the son of the author, and the index Toldot Adam. This important sefer, printed in the year “נח”ת” 1698 became most sought-after over the years, and was considered as having special properties, since the Baal Shem Tov, founder of the Chassidic movement, was born in that year.
