Magnificent edition of the Mikraot Gedolot Tanach, known as the “Basle edition” with supplements and revisions to earlier editions. Including Rashi’s commentary on the entire Tanach, the Ibn Ezra on the Torah and parts of Nach, commentaries of the Radak, Ralbag, Rabbi Saadya Gaon and others. Includes a Latin work, “Tiberias”, regarding the mesora, written by Johannes Buxtotfius, the famed Christian scholar who helped prepare this edition. The work was printed in 1620.
Impressive copy, includes the Latin work that is not included in all copies.
Original parchment binding with a restored spine and particularly large copper clasps (more than 5 cm.) made specifically for this work (missing one closure).
Worming holes, primarily to the first and last leaves of each volume. Tears in the first title page with a light loss. Overall fine condition.
