Manuscript – transcription of the book Yessod Teshuvah [see below], with Rabbi Yehudah HeChassid’s will, and a poem about the halachahs of treifot by Rabbi David Vital. Yemen, 17th century. The work Yessod Teshuvah by Rabbi Yitzchak Ellis was first printed in Krakow in 1583 and it became very popular; it was printed and transcribed by hand numerous times. The author added Rabbi Yehudah HeChassid’s will at the conclusion. Due to various reasons and errors, the sefer underwent several changes ( Moreh Chata’im as in this manuscript, or Yoreh Chata’im ), and even the author’s name was confused – there are those who attributed this work to Rabbi Yehudah HeChassid and there are even those who attribute it to Rabbi Elazar of Germaiza! The poem “Ani Re’ah – Ani Mar’eh” written by Rabbi David Vital and printed for the first time in his sefer , Keter Torah (Constantinople, 1536) is at the end of this book. [28] pp, 20.5 cm. Fine condition. Usage and aging stains. Minor textual lacks in the inner margins, with professional paper completions. Simple new binding.
