“May you merit wealth and happiness, spiritually and materially. May Hashem fulfill all [your] heart’s desires for the good, Chaim Kanievsky, Nissim Karelitz, Dov Landau”
Very beautiful and rare letter handwritten and signed by three leaders of the recent generations, the Sar HaTorah, the gaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, the posek hador , the gaon Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, and the gaon Yisrael, Rabbi Dov Landau. Bnei Brak, 2008.
In rare form, likely out of respect for the distinguished family mentioned in the letter, the gedolei hador – unusually – write all three together one after another, in their own scripts, on the same notebook leaf. The first writer was the gadol hador , who grants a huge blessing for wealth in his own hand: “May you merit wealth and happiness spiritually and materially. May Hashem fulfill all [your] heart’s desires for the good, Chaim Kanievsky.” Two more gedolei hador join his blessing, each of whom adds a few lines in his own script, with his signature.
Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the gaon Rabbi Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim Kanievsky , the gaon Rabbi Shmaryahu Yosef Nissim Karelitz and the gaon Rabbi Ephraim Dov Landau .
Manuscripts by gedolei hadorot , not only the Chassidim, were used as tried-and-true amulets. Like in the story brought in Chut HaMeshulash about an amulet given by the gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger, without even sacred Names, only the inscription “in the merit of the insight I had in the Tosafot in Sukkah with respect to the Clouds of Glory, may he recover.” This was so even just two generations ago, by Rabbi Mordcheleh of Oshmina and tzaddik of Greditz. This matter is ancient. This letter bears an explicit blessing for wealth written by the gadol hador of the most recent generation, signed by him, and joined by two more gedolei hadorot.
