He is fit to determine law, having been granted the ordination of sages.’
Letter of rabbinic ordination handwritten (draft) by the gaon Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot of Brod for his disciple:
“My friend, sharp and expert in Torah, the complete sage Rabbi Meir Tzvi … holder of this letter, has been carefully examined and demonstrated his abilities in deliberating and determining the subject matter; he will not stray from the path of those who wear the cloak of truth … He is fit to determine the law, having been granted the ordination of sages.’
This rabbinic ordination is not signed, after a while the gaon Rabbi Ephraim Ze’ev wrote it on an additional piece of lined paper, with poetic phraseology related to rabbinic ordination.
