David Berglsohn (1884-1952) was a famous Yiddish author and playwright who wrote much about tormented young people and life in the shtetl. He is one of the “Martyrs of the Soviet Union” who was put to death together with twelve of his fellow poets at Stalin’s command, as part of a staged trial in August 1952.
