This amulet was passed around from person to person and the disciples of the Ba’al Shem Tov heard it from him. At center of the amulet is the text of the vow that Elijah the Prophet made with the evil spirits in this world, including their names. Surrounded by typical Jerusalem decorations and illustrations.
This amulet is bibliographically unknown. It is not listed amongst Jerusalem prints and is not in the National Library. It was found in a destroyed synagogue near Kiev, Ukraine.
Tears with loss, not affecting text. The leaf was restored and pasted to cardboard. Matted. Moderate condition.
