Printed sheet – “I Call on You, Prominent People, Rabbis and those who Grasp the Torah …” from the sage and scholar Rabbi Shalom Albek. [Warsaw?], Shevat, 1909. Extremely rare.
On this sheet, the author explains his position with respect to Sefer HaEshkol published by Rabbi Tzvi Binyamin Auerbach, and accuses him of the most serious accusations – fraud and deception, for adding and omitting passages at will, etc. A short time later, he printed a new, revised version of Sefer HaEshkol (Berlin, 1910).
This announcement caused tremendous reverberations, and the booklet Tzidkat HaTzaddik (Berlin, 1910) was printed opposing it, to defend the honor of Rabbi Tzvi Binyamin Auerbach. In response, Rabbi Albek wrote another booklet, entitled Kofer HaEshkol (Warsaw, 1910).
