Sifri with the commentary Zera Avraham, by Rabbi Avraham Yekutiel Zalman Lichtenstein. Two parts. Dyehernfurth-Radziwilow 1811-1820. First edition. Special copy.
Part one: Dyehernfurth 1811. [5] 80 leaves, 37cm.
Part two: Radziwilow 1820. [2] 110 leaves, 37cm.
The two parts have the Sifri itself. The first half has an illustrated title page, signed in print. With many important approbations. At the beginning is the first approbation with a list of signees, amongst the them great Chassidic leaders, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev, the Maggid of Koznitz and others. After this, full approbations are printed, amongst them from Rabbi Akiva Eiger, Rabbi Yaakov of Lisa, the author of the ‘Chavat Da’at’ and others.
The second part was printed Radziwilow. Before us is a special copy. On the title page, the place of printing and the printer’s name were omitted. The detail is: Yehi Noam Hashem Elokeinu Aleinu B’o Y’a’vo Ha’Me’va’s’er T’o’v L’Bsareinu [1820]. In addition, the approbations on the back of the title page were omitted, and in their place the names of those who gave approbations are listed, with three additional names (refer to the Hebrew Bibliography no. 155036).
Very few Hebrew books were printed in Radziwilow, and they are rare.
Two new and matching covers. Age stains. On the title page of the second part the white margins were restored. Fine condition.
